At the EHMA 2023 Annual Conference, we are proud to host the Karolinska Institutet Medical Management Centre (MMC) & EHMA Research Award, promoting high-quality research on health management.
Now at its 21st edition, the award was created to stimulate early career researchers to engage in healthcare management research. Since its inception in 2002, this award has inspired early career researchers to engage in healthcare management research and provided a platform for doctoral researchers to present their thesis and exchange ideas with leading academics and practitioners in the field. Many award winners have used this opportunity to launch their careers in health management.
Every year, the Call for Abstracts of the EHMA Conference includes a specific section for PhD students in the final stages of their doctoral studies or recent PhD graduates. All submitted abstracts are assessed by an independent panel composed of representatives of Karolinska Medical Management Centre and members of the EHMA Scientific Advisory Committee. Shortlisted abstracts are then invited to present their study results in a dedicated session at the conference. The best research is announced and awarded during the Closing Ceremony.
Former award winners were delightfully impressed by the warm, friendly and supportive environment offered by the Conference, which provides a unique opportunity to share knowledge and best practices with representatives from leading European universities and research centres, healthcare professionals and leaders, and policy-makers.
Receiving the Karolinska Medical Management Centre & EHMA Research Award last year was a true honour and proved to be necessary motivation boost now that I’m at the final stages of my PhD. Looking at the award above my desk shows me every day why we do what we do: research on healthcare policy in order to make improvements for the patients of tomorrow!
