The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability of the financial structures supporting our health systems and the challenges we face in making these structures more resilient. We concurrently need to optimise spending, invest in innovation and digital transition, improve our tracking of medical stocks to prevent shortages and develop new models for decision-making.
This year we received 7 research abstracts submitted under the track ‘Finance and Economics. EHMA 2023 will feature one dedicated oral abstract session where presenters will analyse frameworks, economic implications and best practices for optimal resource allocation.
On the second day of the conference, the abstract session on ‘Healthcare systems’ efficiency and sustainability’ will discuss models, digital tools, and case studies to evaluate health systems’ financial efficiency and sustainability.
This session will deliver valuable insights into the drivers of healthcare spending and lean management strategies to contain expenditures while still delivering quality and value in our health systems.
